Quinta da Covela

Quinta de Covela dates back to the 16th century. Located in the Baião subregion, it sits on the southernmost boundary of the Vinhos Verdes region. Its proximity to the Douro River allows it to benefit from very specific conditions for producing high-quality wines with a unique profile. Our iconic variety is the Avesso grape, with which we produce the most elegant of wines. The estate offers wonderful views, with vineyards, fruit trees, and forests, all set against a magnificent backdrop. The property once belonged to Manoel de Oliveira, one of the most famous European movie directors of the second half of the 20th century.
